Banksy. Would love to see these in London next month!

Banksy. Would love to see these in London next month!

I seem to be on a kick with posting videos lately. This one’s quite inspiring to learn a craft with…just your bare hands.  Isn’t this just the way it’s supposed to be?

Enjoy.

// Practical Art//

This is quite a simple idea and yet so awesome.  One of the things that makes me most happy is to bake something that tastes amazing as well as being aesthetically pleasing.  Almost ALWAYS I am looking up how many tablespoons is in this or how many cups will be equal to that. I also seem to run into the “crap, the measuring cup is in the dishwasher again” and need to improvise. Someone must have been thinking of me when they put this together.

Whimsy & Spice are Brooklyn based confectioner’s. Be careful not to look at their site long…you will drool, trust me. They also just so happened to start a photography and poster shop named Sweet Fine Day, which is where you can get this poster in several different colors. Now you have NO excuse not to make that recipe you saved weeks ago, these guys practically make it for you.

Get your bake on!

// Put that out, man.//

My, have we come a long way.

We’ve been having a bit of trouble with some smoking neighbors recently and hopefully (cross your fingers) it’s over with now. It did however get me thinking about how you can’t smoke most places anymore, and that it’s made us even more sensitive for when we smell it. I am THRILLED to not even have to think about it when we go out now. The only thing I remember thinking that was cool about all of it was the vending machines. You pull a knob and you could pick from around 20 choices or more(I think). Even though my feelings were “it’s illegal and gross”, the machine was still pretty neat. Well in 1997, they turned those old dispensers into art. Art-O-Mat is responsible for this and they’ve done a beautiful job with the idea. You get little art goodness for $5 and get to experience your nostalgia for the good ol’ days in a much healthier way. A friend of mine got me one of them and in the little box was a little olive from this artist. So if you need a creative outlet, this could be your thing!  Omaha now has a machine at the Bemis Center, and there is one as well in Lincoln at the University of Nebraska. Check here to find one near you!

Here’s to turning unhealthy experiences into healthy ones!

It's tough to know
what to begin with
so therefore I won't begin
with much of a
beginning
at all.
